The Ulster University at Coleraine required furniture for their new teaching block and Faulty of Arts building to populate busy atrium and reception areas.
Learning and higher education is reinventing itself as an increasingly social experience. Therefore, to be inspiring and stimulating for students and staff, our brief was to create environments that provided a combination of vibrant group working areas, quiet spaces for solo study along with one to one tuition and areas for relaxing and socialising.
STUDENT HUB and COLLABORATIVE AREAS
Groups of modular sofas and collaborative study tables were selected to follow the contours of the architectural design of the interior. The colour palette was selected to encourage both relaxation and focus within the quiet study areas. The layout design in both seating and study tables results in a well balanced use of space that complements the large and airy spaces within the new build.
